Hello, my name is Phil Heywood.

I'm a UI Designer

The visual design of a new interface can make or break the customer experience. It's here that I help users understand how the site works, delight them with interesting touches, and build on the UX design to make tools that empower customers, whatever device they're using, or their own particular needs.

As a UI Designer, I create attractive, helpful, accessible user interfaces that make brands shine.

UI Design Clients

A partial list of clients I've been proud to work for as a UI Designer, in alphabetical order.

Rushmoor Borough Council

The council governing the towns of Aldershot and Farnborough were looking to give their new website a more modern feel, but one that incorporated elements specific to the local area.

As the culmination of a process that included collaboration and ideation with their key stakeholders, I created a fresh new look and feel that was completely new to Rushmoor, barring their logo and signature teal colour.

University of East London

A website is just one part of an end-to-end customer journey. Other digital channels, and many offline steps, are likely to play a role.

I employ service design techniques first to document the current key strategic journeys, then to create new journeys that deliver better results for the customer and, by extension, the business. This is all done in conjunction with UX researchers, who engage with customer to understand their processes and pain points.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home

We had previously replatformed Battersea's website, but came to us to apply their fresh new branding to replace their aged old one.

The brand guidelines were incomplete, and did not yet include rules for digital, but a tight timeline—we had to launch to coincide with a major new marketing campaign—meant I had to work closely with their branding agency.

UEFA Euro 2020 Hospitality Ecommerce

With UEFA's flagship tournament, Euro 2020, 18 months away, Redweb was awarded the design and build contract for their hospitality ecommerce site.

We were set the challenge of driving €10 million of sales through this new website, with the usual wealth of options further complicated by the tournament taking place in multiple countries for the first time.
